What is Alumina Ceramic

Aluminum oxide ceramic (Al2O3), or alumina ceramic, is a high-performance ceramic material that combines high hardness and wear resistance with excellent high-temperature stability and electrical insulation.

It offers good chemical stability and strong resistance to many acids and bases, with a moderate density and a favorable strength-to-weight balance. It is widely used in precision bearings, seals, corrosion-resistant components, electronic insulation parts, and medical device components, delivering reliable performance in harsh operating environments over long periods.

The manufacturing process typically includes raw material selection, forming (pressing, injection molding, etc.), sintering for densification, and surface finishing (grinding, polishing, coating) to achieve the required tolerances and surface roughness. This combination of properties makes alumina ceramic a preferred choice for applications requiring hardness, chemical stability, high-temperature tolerance, and good insulation.
